Academic Work: I research shared decision-making and the use of knowledge tools, often referred to as patient decision aids. I founded the Option Grid Collaborative, an unincorporated association of individuals engaged in developing and disseminating Option Grid™ decision aids. These tools are now licensed to EBSCO and are available in Dynamed Decisions. I have developed several measures to assess levels of shared decision-making.

Consulting Work: I advise organizations that develop information technology solutions to support patient care and those seeking to implement shared decision-making.
